Carlos Santana
This important US band pioneered Afro-Latin rock and remains head and shoulders above all
pretenders to their throne. Formed in 1966, they were the last major act to emerge from the
psychedelic San Francisco music scene of the 60s. Over the past 25 years, guitarist Carlos Santana
has never lost his fire, and the signature sound of his guitar wailing over organ and congas is so
strong that whether he plays rock, jazz, Latin or funk, he's still playing Santana music.
